Best Practices

Different elements that can be included in carousels are:

  • Products
  • Images
  • Videos
  • Facts/Testaments/Statements (text based)

When planning a carousel, consider the the information that should be included with the rotating element. For a carousel featuring products, will the name of the product and price also be rotating through? For a carousel with images, will the caption change with each photo or stay the same?

Video in Carousel
If you are planning a carousel with video, the lengths should be kept at 6s or 15s.

We suggest using as little text as possible to allow your branding, imagery and video to shine. Keep copy as close to the following suggestions:

  • Headline (100 characters)
  • Additional copy (100 characters)

If you would like to include more text than suggested, consider animating to break up the content and allow the user to process smaller pieces of information, always ending with the CTA.

We recommend a CTA with no more than 20 characters and to keep the CTA visible at all times so the user is encouraged to click through.
